A simple free tool to build your asset funds. It will help you determine which asset class you want in your portfolio, are there threshold you looking to hold & invest and how to do it. It is easy to follow the latest trend, be it doom or hype of gold, silver, AI, IT or BitCoin. It is ok to have any of those, but do not get lost in the wood of financial knowledge.

It will allow you to model the impact of a higher savings rate, higher salary, of savings later and much more. See at the end for other information to navigate the file.  

Analysis :

Virtually all in finance recommend to save for retirement. After the decision to invest and how much, in what is the most impactful decision. First determine your objective. Then determine the risk and how you could manage those risk. Finally determine in which asset class you want to invest. 
Finally, I highly encourage you to hold your asset through a brokerage. The tool also provide a simple way to determine which asset class you are missing and should buy and how much. 

Conclusion

  • One of the main self acknowledge reason to get a financial planner is to set this tool policies & process. The financial planner will help you not sale during down market and prevent you to follow the latest following the lemmings down the cliff. Set your allocation and change it at most once a few years. 
  • Going through a brokerage account using Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) rather than through the bank offers you a way to increase your return in a big way, 1-2% or equivalently doubling your money 1-6 years earlier!
